We’re heading closer towards the end of the year. A strange year that, besides the Covid 19 Pandemic, even included some earthquakes for us here in Cape Town. But, together we are still standing and still going strong with a few exciting events coming up.

We hosted yet another amazing webinar sponsored by Hollard Insure and Clyde and Co. Nico Venter from Hollard presented on the basics and importance of Business Interruption in our client’s businesses. This was followed by Warren Hiepner from Clyde and Co. on the FSCA impact on the way forward. Our feedback following this webinar was excellent as members really enjoyed this, the majority mentioning that they would like to have a more detailed and longer Business Interruption webinar, in order to look at the intricacies and complexities affecting our client’s businesses. So do keep a look-out in your calendars next year, as we will be hosting a classroom session specifically dedicated to Business interruption and unpacking this further.

Our classroom sessions are drawing to an end with one more event on the 29th of October 2020. It promises to be dynamic and exciting, as always. You can expect to interact, share with- and gain knowledge from the presenters. Remember, these sessions are specifically geared towards accommodating smaller groups to ensure interactive training with the presenters. And having received constructive reviews, these will be utilized as building blocks for future IIWC Webinars and Seminars.

With overwhelming responses to the classroom sessions from those embarking on the Continuous Professional Development path, as well as new partnerships being formed with companies stepping up to volunteer their seasoned and skilled staff to present in the classroom sessions, it is clear to see that great things can be achieved when we all come together.

In partnership with LearnOn (www.learnon.co.za), all recordings of the previous classroom sessions are available to attendees who registered for the Introduction to Commercial Insurance session presented by Kurt Stanley from Commrisk Insurance Brokers and the Unpacking Machinery Breakdown Insurance session by Zain Hoosen from Bryte Insurance.

If you missed out on these two sessions, be sure to be on the lookout and RSVP for the next event on the 29th of October.

We also would like use this opportunity to thank Mitchell Cousins for his commitment and dedication to the committee. His assistance and valued input has helped us bring incredible edu-webinars to our members. We wish you all the best and know you will achieve success in the future.

Never has there been a time when #together has made such a deep impact on how the Insurance Industry in the Western Cape has forged forward in order to quench the thirst for Education and Knowledge under these circumstances. We could not have achieved so much this year, if it has not been for our sponsors. Whether it is financial support, sharing knowledge by making your staff available to present or by just allowing everyone to join online, thanks for doing this with us and for the great industry we are in. #together
